Daniela Poletti is a Partner of Selvaggio Lawyers with more than 25 years of experience specialising in family law.

Daniela’s interest lies in helping people.  This is particularly true for her Family Law clients, who are going through what is often a very difficult and emotional time.  Whenever possible she provides comprehensive advice and guidance at the earliest opportunity and, in the majority of cases, clients receive a comprehensive overview of how their issues would best be resolved at their initial consultation with Daniela.

In 1996 she was accredited by the Law Society of NSW as a Family Law Specialist and maintains her accreditation through ongoing education in the field.  She has considerable expertise in all aspects of Family Law and is also an experienced Collaborative Family Law practitioner. The depth and breadth of her experience ensures that she has a sound understanding of the legal issues that impact on family law matters, including those involving complex financial and business related issues and taxation issues.

In addition to family law, Daniela is also an experienced Wills and Estates lawyer, assisting clients with a wide range of issues from preparing Wills to providing advice and representation in contested estate matters.

Regardless of whether she is helping clients with a family law matter or an estate dispute, Daniela is able to resolve matters for most of her clients without the necessity of going to Court.  She achieves these resolutions either through negotiation with the other party's solicitor, mediation, or by using the Collaborative Law process, which enables clients to resolve their issues through face-to-face negotiation with the assistance of trained Collaborative Lawyers.  Having undertaken formal training in both Mediation and Collaborative Law, Daniela is ideally placed to achieve the best results possible for her clients using these methods.

When necessary, Daniela is also an experienced and determined litigator who skillfully represents clients in the Family Court of Australia as well as the Federal Circuit Court.

Daniela is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, a trained Mediator and a trained Collaborative Lawyer.   She is a founding member of the Greater Sydney Collaborative Family Lawyers Group and an Executive member of Collaborative Professionals NSW Incorporated.

Client Feedback

"Daniela‚Äôs analytical ability and years of experience enabled her to provide thoughtful, thorough, and, most importantly, practical legal advice regarding my family law issue. She listens carefully to any questions and comments and she responds quickly and clearly with analysis and advice aimed directly at the issue.   Daniela also works well with other counsel to achieve the best result for the client and avoids the parochial behaviour that can interfere with achieving the simplest and best solution. Her professionalism in the way she conducts her business is of the highest possible standards.   Also, the wonderful, smart and professional support staff she has could not be faulted in terms of their efficiency and caring nature."
